A Fun Packed Founder’s Day

Dulwich International High School Suzhou celebrated Founder’s Day this year on Friday, 23rd April, in a fun-filled afternoon in honor of our founder - Edward Alleyn. Founder’s Day at Dulwich is a traditional event across the group that staff and students look forward to every year.  This year was no different, with a diverse range of activities and performances taking place all around the campus.

On the roof terrace, musical performances combined with Art as Artists and Graphic designers showcased their portfolios. Some of our students also presented their English Project work, demonstrating their public speaking skills. Stalls sold intricately decorated cupcakes and refreshments, with all the proceeds going to charity.

Outside, a wide range of stalls offered a wealth of activities for staff and students to enjoy. Our school catering teams entered into the spirit of Founder’s Day,  offering exceptionally delicious food and treats on a range of stalls.

One of the highlights of the stalls outside was the Juice Bike. Using pedal power to drive a blender, this new, improved version of the Juice bike allowed students and staff to make banana smoothies!

On the Sustainable Spin Stand, students were invited to spin the wheel.  Wherever the pointer landed, there was an educational insight into that topic, and usually an accompaniment of a sustainable product. Students learned about sustainable toothbrushes, gender equality and garbage classification. It was great to see many students taking an interest.

After rave reviews of Z-Rou food at our sister school in Dulwich College PuDong, we were delighted to welcome an exciting protein alternative menu to our Founder’s Day. The Z-Rou burgers were particularly a hit with staff and students alike. We look forward to seeing more of Z-Rou in the future.
