Dulwich International High School Suzhou Staff Watercolor Exhibition!

Two months ago, an art teacher at Dulwich International High School Suzhou, Vikki Gibson, set a challenge, asking if any of her colleagues would like to learn how to paint with watercolours and exhibit their works after only 6 lessons. Learning a new skill can be a frustrating struggle but learning a new skill with the knowledge that you will be displaying it for the world to see, in a professional art gallery, gives an added pressure that takes strong resolve and determination to achieve! Vikki is delighted that so many staff succeeded in their mission. They all started as absolute beginners and became exhibiting artists in such a short space of time! The paintings on display represent a variety of styles and showcase accomplished skills and techniques. These works along with Vikki Gibson’s watercolours will be exhibited at Suzhou Arts Collective, 26th March – 8th May 2021.

Putting on an exhibition requires teamwork, with everyone contributing their own talents and expertise to make it happen. Colleagues Martin Crozier and Richard Nunns offered their support by teaming up with Bonny Buckley Blankenbach and Bernd Blankenbach to form a string quartet, who will perform at the opening evening of 26th March along with Bethany Sootheran and Xia Wei, who will perform a dance, to make the opening of the exhibition a fantastic evening of arts and culture.
