Great Success at the Chinese Debate Championship

On 8th December, 2018, the "Zongheng Cup" International School Chinese Debate Championship was held at Dulwich International High School Suzhou. Debaters from Suzhou, Changshu, Xiamen and other places gathered in Suzhou. They formed nine teams to debut the Chinese Debate Championship in East China.

Although the competition was small, it was also great fun. From the length of the referee's commentary to the rehearsal of the round-robin system to the post-match lectures, all the students who participated in the competition found it rewarding. After a fierce battle of 16 games a day, the team that won the championship was from Dulwich International High School Suzhou! Cecilia L., a student of our school, won the honor of the best debater. When asked about the experience of winning the award, she said:"I am the fourth debater of the team, and mainly summarize the views of Debaters. No.1 and No. 3 and I have been working very well through long-term cooperation, so this award is more of a team honor." As one of our co-curricular activities, the debate club conducts training every Wednesday. In 2017, our school debate team has been to Beijing to participate in a national-level debate competition, and eventually advanced to the world-level debate competition in Hong Kong. The outstanding achievements this time are the result of long-term training and are testament to the hard work of our students!
