2025-2026 House Cup｜CURIE
At Dulwich International High School Programme Suzhou, the House System forms an integral part of the school's culture and pastoral framework.
This tradition originated at Dulwich College in London and dates back to 1919. It continues to be an essential feature across the global Dulwich network. Within this system, a House is not simply an organisational structure, but a central source of belonging for students.
Upon joining the school, every student and member of staff is assigned to one of four Houses: Curie, Mandela, Soong, and Turing, and remains part of that House throughout their time at DHSZ. In this way, each House becomes a community that connects academic, sporting, artistic, and co-curricular life.
Beyond a single function, Houses provide opportunities for daily interaction, collaboration, and connection across year groups. Through participation in a wide range of activities, students develop teamwork, communication skills, and leadership.
The House Cup represents the House honour within this system. Throughout the academic year, Houses accumulate points through participation in a wide range of activities. At the end of the year, the House with the highest total is awarded the House Cup. This system emphasises sustained engagement and holistic development, encouraging students to contribute, collaborate, and grow in diverse contexts.

In the 2025–2026 academic year, Curie achieved the highest overall score through consistent participation and strong performance across a range of activities and was awarded the House Cup.
Named after Curie, the House reflects values of intellectual rigour and a spirit of inquiry. Over the past year, its members have demonstrated a high level of engagement and cohesion across academic competitions, school events, and collaborative initiatives. Through sustained effort in multiple areas, Curie House distinguished itself in the overall standings.
House Recognition: Celebrating Participation and Contribution
In addition to the announcement of the House Cup, each House recognised students and staff who demonstrated consistent commitment and active participation throughout the year.
These acknowledgements extend beyond formal leadership roles, recognising individuals across year groups who contributed meaningfully to House activities. In doing so, the House system becomes not only a space for collaboration and friendly competition, but also a community that values participation and recognises individual effort.
Sports Awards 2026: Sporting Excellence and Character
At the Whole School Ceremony, students who demonstrated commitment and achievement in sport were recognised.
Awards were presented across a range of disciplines, including badminton, basketball, football, volleyball, and table tennis. These awards recognise not only performance, but also the values demonstrated through sport, including responsibility, teamwork, and integrity.
In addition, honours such as the Service to Sport Award, Fair Play Award, and Student Coach Award, as well as Male Athlete Award and Female Athlete Award, were presented. Through participation in sport, students develop resilience, leadership, and respect for others.
The House Cup represents more than a result; it reflects the collective effort and sustained engagement of House members over the course of a full academic year.
Through this process, individuals and communities grow together, contributing to the vibrant and dynamic character of the Dulwich community.
