Here Comes the Musical ‘Legally Blonde’

February 23rd an exceptional performance of Legally Blonde the Musical took place.  Legally Blonde tells the fabulously fun story of Elle Woods as she transforms from a charming but stereotypical sorority girl to a brilliant Harvard law student that defies expectations and stays true to herself. This was one of the most eagerly awaited productions in the history of our school, and it was certainly worth it!

Dulwich International High School Suzhou is full of extraordinary students with incredible talents and skills in all areas, and in the Performing Arts Department we are extremely fortunate in that regard!  From the beginning of the term, students demonstrated their passion and dedication, attending intensive singing, dancing and acting rehearsals to prepare for the final performance.  Costumes were ordered, fitted and altered.  Lines were memorized.  Songs and dances learned. Lights were programmed, microphones worn, and students practiced on an impressive multi-level stage.

The amount of effort on display was astonishing.  In addition to terrific singing and acting, the production was elevated by fantastic dancing.  It raised the bar of the performance, demonstrating just how seriously we take the performing arts at Dulwich International High School Suzhou.   It takes a lot of hard work to put on a show that looks this good and is so much fun to watch!

The show must go on!  Due to epidemic restrictions Legally Blonde was postponed twice, with students rising above these challenges to give a spectacular performance during Spirit Week.  Legally Blonde was presented for the entire student body to rousing success. The multi-talented cast sang, danced, and acted their way into the hearts and minds of the audience – making magic on the stage that will not be easily forgotten.

Congratulations to the cast and crew of Legally Blonde.   Thank you to all students who participated, and families, classmates, staff and teachers for supporting our students on their performing journey.
