Where the spotlight appeared, joyous dances accompanied by lively tunes resonated on the stage: ♪Little shop, little shop of horrors. ♪ With its magical melody, it transported us into a realm full of thrills and wonder. The roar of a peculiar giant plant, the energetic movements on a passionate stage, a perplexing tempest of human dread, with dark themes and mysterious characters...
This is the long-awaited annual musical:
"Little Shop of Horrors"!
This month, our highly anticipated school musical, after months of meticulous preparation, finally made its debut as scheduled. There were three performances of “Little Shop of Horrors,” presenting a visual and auditory feast that combined acting, passion, music, and talent for the entire school, including students, parents and staff.
The actors and actresses delivered performances that delved deep into the essence of the storyline. Every nuanced movement, each emotionally charged line and lyric, skillfully crafted distinct characters. Their expressions of joy, anger, sorrow, and laughter transported the audience into a world brimming with surprises and emotions. In the audience, everyone was captivated, their expressions tense, following the protagonist's narrative with unwavering attention—laughing, sighing, and gasping in tandem with the unfolding story.
The live band's lively accompaniment injected a vibrant vitality into the musical, while the carefully choreographed dances displayed a unique artistry, with each step complementing the music. The stage setting and prop design were a visual spectacle. Witnessing the transformation of the cute little plant into a giant flower was a breathtaking moment! Every detail spoke of the creators' infinite love for the musical and their commitment to excellence, enhancing the artistic subtleties of the entire performance.
Our Head of Drama, Ms Katherine Ryan, gave an impassioned speech as the director of the musical:

Your dedication, passion, and hard work have been the driving force behind the success of this Broadway show, and we couldn't be more thankful.
From the captivating performances on stage to the meticulous behind-the-scenes work, each cast and crew member has played a vital role in bringing this production to life. A very special thank you to our Orchestra, Eshan Bhatt, our vocal coach, and Mr Koh for conducting. The energy, enthusiasm, and professionalism you brought to the rehearsals, the late-night technical sessions, and every performance were truly remarkable.
The synergy and camaraderie among the cast and crew have created an unforgettable experience for the audience and everyone involved in the production. Little Shop of Horrors has entertained and left a lasting impression on all those who enjoyed being part of or witnessing this fantastic journey.
Your talents have shone brightly, and your commitment has been evident in every scene, note, and set change. It is a testament to your collective effort and passion for the craft that we can now look back on a successful run with pride and satisfaction.
