Personal Belongings
Every student is assigned an individual locker with sufficient space to store schoolbags and academic supplies, including PE kits. Whilst the school implements various security measures to safeguard personal possessions, students remain responsible for looking after their own belongings and learning equipment. The school accepts no liability for loss arising from inadequate personal storage or careless custody of cash and valuables. Students are discouraged from bringing large sums of cash or expensive items onto campus. Particular care must be taken with laptops, tablets, mobile phones, headphones and similar electronics, which should never be left unattended in any public area of the school. Should staff discover unattended devices, such items will be securely held by the school and returned to the student at the end of the school day.
Lost Property
All items brought to school are recommended to be clearly labelled to facilitate return upon loss. Misplaced textbooks should be returned to the library. Students who have lost belongings may enquire at the Lost Property point outside the IT Office (IC5). Unlabelled lost items are periodically displayed in the Lost Property area for collection; unclaimed goods will eventually be disposed of by the school. Students are advised to keep possessions secure and check Lost Property promptly if anything goes missing.
Headphones, especially wireless Bluetooth earbuds, are frequently misplaced. Owing to difficulties identifying unmarked earphones, the school will not issue whole-school email alerts to trace lost headphones. Students are therefore strongly advised to label their headphones with their full name and exercise extra vigilance.
Cameras, Mobile Phones and Other Multimedia Electronic Devices
To prevent inappropriate device usage during lessons, cameras, mobile phones and media players are prohibited in classrooms throughout teaching hours. Any such equipment brought onto school premises must be locked inside the student's personal locker. Confiscated devices will be held securely by the Assistant Head of Year.
Core Regulations for Electronic Devices:
All students are permitted to bring laptops and/or tablets (in lieu of mobile phones) for in-class learning and communication. The minimum screen dimension for tablets is 20cm × 13.5cm, equivalent in size or larger than an iPad mini.
Breaches of these rules will result in immediate confiscation until close of school on the same day. A second offence within a single academic term leads to device confiscation for seven calendar days alongside a behavioural detention point. A third violation may result in permanent loss of on-campus electronic device privileges and a mandatory parent meeting; in such instances, confiscated phones or devices will only be released directly to the student’s parents or legal guardians.

Prohibited Items
The following items are forbidden on school premises: alcohol, tobacco products (including e-cigarettes and their pods), lighters and lighter fluid, controlled or illegal substances, prescription and non-prescription medication without prior approval, pornographic or racist literature, skateboards, weapons or replica weaponry, items used for gambling, animals and insects. Any prohibited item found in a student's possession will be permanently confiscated, and the student will face stringent disciplinary sanctions. This list is not exhaustive; any item deemed inappropriate by the school will be confiscated.
Students requiring regular medication (prescription or over-the-counter) must hand all medicines to the School Nurse upon arrival each school day, accompanied by official medical practitioner guidance plus written parental consent and explanatory documentation.
General School Regulations
Campus Security
Campus security is paramount to the wellbeing of every individual, and safeguarding students stands as the school's top priority. The school employs a fully trained security team; all students, staff and parents are expected to respect security personnel's duties and comply with their reasonable instructions.
Identification Requirements
Upholding campus safety is a core institutional priority governed by formal security policies. All individuals on campus must display a photo-bearing school ID card or valid visitor pass. Any person spotted without a valid Dulwich ID or visitor badge must be reported to school staff immediately. Students must not deface, mark, cover or damage their ID or visitor documentation. Possession of multiple school ID cards or wearing an ID card with an accommodation-status mismatched colour will result in formal disciplinary action.
Emergency Protocols & Safety Drills
Regular fire evacuation drills and lockdown drills are conducted to refine emergency protocols and ensure all occupants can evacuate calmly and efficiently. During drills, students must remain quiet and composed, following instructions from form tutors and designated fire wardens to complete an orderly, prompt and safe building evacuation.
Campus Upkeep & Property Care
Preserving the school's tidy and attractive campus environment is a shared obligation for all students and staff. Whilst queuing outside classrooms, students must avoid leaning bags against walls or scuffing skirting boards with footwear. Posters may not be affixed to painted wall surfaces; doors and glass panels are the only permitted posting areas. Any discovered damage to school facilities must be reported promptly to Pastoral staff for swift repairs by the maintenance team. Students held accountable for damage caused by their own negligence are liable for full repair costs. Refusal to settle incurred fees may result in administrative sanctions, including suspension of transcript and reference issuance for further education or school transfer applications.
School English Expectations
Students are encouraged to communicate in English wherever possible throughout the school day to maximise language improvement opportunities.
Teachers may occasionally permit mother-tongue discussion for specific in-class learning purposes, yet consistent effort to practise English for academic study remains expected.
Outside lessons, peer interaction in English is actively promoted by all faculty members, who regularly remind students of the value of conversational English. Students should comply when requested to switch to English and actively challenge themselves to improve fluency.
English communication applies to all interactions with every member of school staff, covering both verbal and written correspondence rather than only conversations with classroom teachers.
Consistent commitment to English use across lessons and campus life earns students positive commendation, merit points and formal rewards.
