Dulwich International High School Suzhou (DHSZ) believes that our students ought to be proficient in all areas of modern life, and STEAM connects these different subjects, giving our students a glimpse of the world outside and beyond school.

STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths. On 30 September, after a month of study, research and preparation, the fresh Y10 students presented their parents with a unique demonstration of science experiments today.

DHSZ put equal emphasis on developing the skills of students by using Learning Principles and embedding our Dulwich values. Our students should not only be able to study in a safe environment and get excellent exam results, but also learn how to communicate effectively, work with others, and make cross-curricular connections. 

STEAM at DHSZ is a signature programme that has been developed and progressed over the years with the aim of developing innovative and critical thinking in students. Students presented science experiments such as Hooke's Law, diffusion and the use of microscopes in an innovative way for parents. These experiments were presented and prepared in a way that cleverly integrated art and English into the process, allowing the parents to see the scientific principles in a simple and visual way.

At the same time, with a large number of parents and teachers as the audience, the students' English skills and psychological quality were put to the test, but today's smooth presentation proved that our students are always up to the challenge and complete it with confidence.

Other than that, mathematics helps them to integrate aesthetic elements into their STEAM project designs and develop and hone skills that will widen their career opportunities in a world that values appearance and consumer appeal as well as functionality.
