The Art Department held its first summer art exhibition in June this year, featuring the work of some of our very talented artists. This event will now be an annual event in DHSZ's calendar. The official opening ceremony took place on the afternoon of the 2nd of June and was attended by invited guests, including the parents of the students whose work was exhibited. The exhibition was open for another week after the opening.
We were honoured to have Mr. R.J. Chen, the Head of the Suzhou Museum, open the show, along with Mr. Short, our Head of Art. He addressed our students and parents and praised the creativity of our students' work. We dedicated our first summer art exhibition to the internationally renowned architect and designer of the beautiful Suzhou Museum, Mr. I.M.Pei, to celebrate his 100th birthday on the 26 April 2017.
It was indeed a wonderful opportunity for the 33 students whose artwork was chosen for the exhibition to have the opportunity to display their excellent work. The standard of artwork produced by our students is of a very high quality indeed, which is a tribute to their talent and hard work, as well as to the excellent teaching and support they receive from their teachers. Well done to the art students and teachers for an outstanding first exhibition - we look forward exhibitions in the years to come.
