DHSZ Students Win China Youth Business League

Thirty two of our Y10 economics students and all the staff from the Economics Department took part in the 2-day China Youth Business League, achieving 1st and 2nd place overall in addition to Best Business Report and Best Presentation in English. The competition was strong, as our students competed in the Suzhou section against other international schools in the area. Students investigated and analysed the gem market, conducted a supply simulation and then began trading with great excitement, experiencing both the highs and the lows of negotiations. Students learnt a lot about running their own business, stock trading, use of business English, public speaking in addition to working and presenting under pressure. Congratulations to Fred and Evelyn's group who were awarded 7th and 8th place; to Maggie Z.'s group who won 2nd place for Best Business Report and Best Business Presentation and, especially to Alaric H. and his team who won 1st place overall and have been invited to the finals in Bejing.
