The Dulwich Colour Run, with the emphasis on fun!

On Thursday 29th April this year, Dulwich International High School Suzhou, in conjunction with Dulwich College Suzhou, held its annual Colour Run. Even though, due to the COVID Epidemic, the last Dulwich colour run was more than two years ago now, back in 2019!

The Colour Run is a charity event that all students and staff eagerly look forward to, mainly because it allows them to throw powder paint at their friends and teachers! This year was no different, with white tee shirts rapidly transformed in an explosion of vibrant rainbow colours within a few minutes of the start of the race!

The race was approximately 1.65 Kilometres in length. Around the course, students lay in wait for their unsuspecting friends and teachers, ready to jump out and cover them in powder paint as they ran past.

It was no surprise that the race was won by Martin Crozier (Head of Mathematics), as his love of running is well known throughout Suzhou, not just at our school! However, the emphasis was placed firmly on fun throughout the proceedings. It is fair to say that Martin didn’t face much competition to achieve his victory, as everyone was too busy throwing paint around!

The efforts the colour run volunteers put in to make the event a success was phenomenal. Every participant, whether a runner, spectator, or paint thrower, had a great time and contributed to the success of the 2021 Dulwich Colour run!
