Johan Swartz
Physics Teacher, Head of Physics and Biology
Johan is a South African national. He graduated with a Baccalaureus Secundae Educationis (Scientiae) (BSecEd (Sci)) from the University of Pretoria, a PGCE from the University of Pretoria and a Bachelor of Education Honours in Physical Sciences Education (BEd Hons) from the University of Pretoria. In 2023 he will start with an MEd in Physics Education – Misconceptions held by high school students in Force and Motion in International Private Schools, through the University of Pretoria. He has been teaching Physics and Chemistry in South Africa for nine years and held the positions of IB MYP & DP Physics Teacher, Head of Science from 2015 – 2019 and Head of Design & STREAM Leader from 2019 -2023 at Emirates International School, Dubai in the UAE. In his free time he enjoys tennis, golf, rugby and travelling.
