Safeguarding

Dulwich International High School Suzhou defines safeguarding as the way in which we provide a safe and effective environment so that all of the children at our school can fully develop and learn. We take every step to ensure that children in our care are protected from all forms of abuse and neglect. Because we put students first in all that we do, safeguarding and child protection are of paramount importance at our school.

Our child-centred approach to safeguarding is based on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. We pride ourselves on being a world-class organization with a strong moral purpose and we make certain that every step is taken to ensure the safety and wellbeing of each and every young adult in our care.

We believe that the views of children should be heard and that every child should be respected as a unique individual. We provide consistent support for the needs of individual children and ensure that each child is able to form stable relationships with adults.

At Dulwich International High School Suzhou, we regularly review and update our extensively developed Safeguarding Policy and continually provide Safeguarding training to all staff. Rigorous safeguarding centric recruitment procedures are utilized to ensure that new staff meet our exacting standards. All new members of staff are trained in safeguarding as part of their induction process and training is refreshed periodically. Our safeguarding standards are audited on an annual basis and are a critical part of our accreditations.
