Highlights from Open Day 2024!
On 1st December, our school hosted the first Open Day Event of AY2024, welcoming families to experience the distinctive charm of a Dulwich education. Under the warm sun, enthusiastic families joined us to explore a diverse range of activities and enjoy meaningful discussions. This event provided the perfect opportunity for many families to gain deeper insights into what makes the Dulwich journey truly exceptional.
The Open Day began with students and parents participating in separate activities tailored to their interests, ensuring a focused and enriching experience. Parents attended presentations by our Head and the Principal, where they gained in-depth knowledge about the school’s educational philosophy, academic structure, and university counselling service.
“At the heart of our mission is an unwavering focus on every student’s potential. Our students consistently graduate with exceptional academic results, earning them entry to top universities around the globe. Once again, our latest graduates showcase the ‘Dulwich Difference,’ securing remarkable outcomes, prestigious university offers, and significant scholarships. Our vision is that every student in our school feels known and cared for.” - Sarah Tielman
Principal Jon Fei delivered a speech titled "Graduate Worldwise" to all families. He shared, "Our goal is for every student to grow in Dulwich and thrive in life." He provided a detailed overview of Dulwich Education's rich heritage and longstanding traditions, its broad and balanced curriculum, strong teaching faculty, university & career counselling services, distinctive artistic pathways, diverse co-curricular activities, and outstanding academic achievements.
Meanwhile, students stepped into the classroom to engage in dynamic lessons, discovering the vibrancy and innovation of Dulwich’s academic offering. This arrangement allowed both parents and students to fully immerse themselves in their respective sessions, setting the stage for meaningful conversations later.
Later, families reunited for a comprehensive campus tour and explored our facilities, delved into the curriculum, and gained a deeper understanding of campus life. From the academic showcase and one-on-one discussions with subject teachers to the personalised guidance offered by the admissions and university counselling teams, parents and students left with a well-rounded perspective on Dulwich education.
Families also enjoyed highlights such as co-curricular activity demonstrations and a behind-the-scenes look at our musical production rehearsals, providing a glimpse into the school’s dedication to fostering creativity and passion. A visit to our boarding facilities showcased our caring residential programme, assuring parents that their children would thrive in a secure and nurturing environment.
Through these activities and interactions, we hope every family left with a genuine sense of Dulwich’s commitment to supporting every student’s growth and a clear vision of how our educational philosophy empowers students for long-term success.
