Dr Cameron Pyke Visits DHSZ

Dr Cameron Pyke, the Deputy Master (External) of Dulwich College, recently paid a visit to Dulwich International High School Suzhou in a heartwarming reunion with the school community. This marked his seventh visit to the school, after a three-year interval. Dr Pyke's presence was particularly significant as he attended two important events: the Pin Ceremony, where staff members were honored, and the Awards Evening, which recognized the achievements of students in Years 11, IG1, 12 and 13.

DHSZ has always embraced the concept of holistic education as its core principle. The school aims to cultivate students with all-around knowledge and skills, enabling them to navigate confidently not only within Dulwich but also throughout their lives. Dr Pyke emphasized this point by highlighting the various award categories presented during the student awards ceremony. The accolades included the Honor Roll and the Head of Year Award, which recognized outstanding achievements in specific year levels. Additionally, academic subject awards were presented, covering a wide range of subjects. These awards not only celebrated students' academic excellence but also applauded their leadership, teamwork, initiative, and unwavering support and dedication to their peers, teachers, and the entire school community. Each award recipient embodied our motto of "Grow in Dulwich, Thrive in Life."

The visit by Dr Pyke holds great significance as it strengthens the deep connection between Dulwich College and Dulwich International High School Suzhou. Students from DHSZ engage in various forms of exchange and activities with their counterparts at Dulwich College and other schools within the Dulwich Group. Examples include the Dulwich Olympiad. In the upcoming summer break, a group of our students will embark on a "University Exploration Tour" to the United Kingdom, with one of the planned stops being a visit to Dulwich College. There, they will have the opportunity to interact and engage in discussions with Dr Pyke and other school leaders.

The DHSZ community expressed sincere appreciation for Dr Pyke's visit, recognizing its importance in further strengthening the ties between the two schools. These interactions between students, staff and parents from DHSZ and Dulwich College serve as a testament to the profound connection they share. It is through such collaborations and exchanges that students are provided with unique opportunities to broaden their horizons, enhance their cultural understanding, and develop skills that will benefit them throughout their lives.
