Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs)
We are very proud that we offer more than 90 CCA programmes. These are offered by teachers, students and sometimes external providers. All students are expected to participate in CCAs. These are offered from Monday to Thursday between 15:30 and 16:30.
One of the main guiding principles here at Dulwich International High School Suzhou is that we ensure that all our students receive a holistic approach to their education which encompass their physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual well- being and balance needs. We believe that education within the classroom should be complemented with exposure to experiences away from the usual four-walls environment. It is paramount to enabling our students access to the development tools they need to prepare for university and a rapidly changing world. Universities are known to prioritise applicants who can demonstrate communication skills, adaptability, problem-solving with creative solutions or build new knowledge, leadership and service orientation, and project management skills.
CCA time is not an optional add on to the school day. It is a key part of the compulsory school curriculum and students who do not attend their CCAs will be treated in the same way as if they missed a subject lesson. Truancy under any circumstance is never acceptable, whether for CCA or lesson time. For students joining our school, they must appreciate that they must participate in the full curriculum on offer.
Students can also work towards a portfolio of activities and receive the Dulwich Challenge Award. Students will be provided with the requirements to meet the Dulwich Challenge at the start of the academic year.
