Global Competencies
At Dulwich International High School Suzhou, we aim to develop students' awareness of their actions and beliefs locally and globally. We are committed to understanding other people and places globally to better prepare students for university life. The United Nation's sustainable development goals provide a framework that we as a school strive to achieve.
We divided global citizenship into four strands; cultural understanding, economic sustainability; diversity, equity and inclusion, and environmental sustainability. Through small actions within the school, students can impact and positively influence much larger systems in the world around them.
Students are encouraged to lead and organise projects related to each of these strands. This past year students have engaged in various volunteering opportunities, and we look forward to expanding this programme next year. Opportunities have included volunteering at the local vets, English speaking activities with Suzhou High school, Arts and Football activities with the Suzhou SIP Xingbao Project Youth Service Center, the Suzhou Library, the Suzhou Small Animal Protection Agency, the Charity shop by Suzhou centre, amongst others. As well as the school's ESG report- an Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) framework to identify our impact, set new targets, evaluate our progress, and develop progress indicators for improvement.
We invite both our new students and parents to join us in helping to make a positive impact on our local community.
