From Peers
Our Outgoing Head Students, Felix T, Sonya C, and Liya W spoke on behalf of the Class of 2024.
Liya reflected fondly on her time at DHSZ,
“Reflecting on every little detail here, in the end, they are just memories stored in our minds. Friends change hairstyles, teachers grow or shave beards, the library's decor becomes neater and more beautiful, and the faces in the pictures on the wall are new. Everything seems to be changing, but as Tagore wrote, "The sky has no traces of wings, but I have flown." These memories left in our hearts are a beauty that we can always peel open and taste like unwrapping cellophane, a resilient thread that is invisible but strong, and the stars formed by our intersections. A warm current from the North Atlantic flows all the way from North America to Europe, with the shadows of Dulwich students in the wind. Even if we go to study in various places today, that warmth will replace us embracing each other.”
Sonya courageously envisioned the future,
“Memories are a wondrous force; they are like chapters in a book, recording every twist and turn of our lives. As we look back, we may feel deeply moved, but we should also appreciate the growth and revelations these memories have brought us. Just like the days when we chased our dreams on campus, we learned bravery, perseverance, and how to face unknown challenges. Looking ahead, we will confront broader skies and more daunting mountains. We have soared through storms and believe our future journey will shine brighter due to our resilience. Perhaps, in some distant moment, when we reunite and reminisce about this shared journey, we will find that only the beauty remains in our memories, because we have already flown across that sky.”
Felix expressed unwavering confidence in the path ahead,
“As this chapter concludes, the next one begins. Let us carry what we learned and experienced in to the unknown. Indeed, the future is frightening, the mist of uncertainty is there in front of us, we are stepping into it right after this ceremony.
We give the sincerest wish to all, hoping the future allows us to pursue our dreams and achieve great success. Yet it is certain that the next chapter may bring s more joy, tears, loneliness, and anxiety, the mist is still there, with danger lurks ahead.
But the memories and paths we've walked will always be with us. Who we are at this moment, and everything that made it possible, is our greatest gift. Each of us is writing our own chapter and will be facing challenges no matter where we go. In that, we are never alone.”
From Parents
In this solemn yet heartwarming graduation moment, we see countless parents holding bouquets of flowers and wielding cameras, capturing these proud moments.
Parent representative Mr Zhang expressed his sincere blessings to the Class of 2024, " Children, please celebrate, because today is your day! Everything today is the result of your years of hard work and the efforts of your fellow classmates. You have every reason to be proud of yourselves and to be excited about the bright future that lies ahead of you."
Mr Zhang expressed special gratitude for DHSZ’s meticulous guidance over the years. He said that at DHSZ, the teachers' consistent teaching methods, aligned with international standards, have nurtured in their children a spirit of independence and exploration, relieving parents' concerns about their children's ability to adapt to university life abroad. The teachers' diverse accents had also prepared the students to face teachers from all over the world in foreign universities without any fear.
Finally, Mr Zhang emotionally conveyed the sentiments that parents should also be grateful for themselves, "Each of us has a unique love for our own child. Our shared dream for our children's bright future has brought us together into the Dulwich family. We have worked hard to change ourselves, transforming from guides to cheerleaders, letting our children pursue their own dreams freely!"
From Alumni
The Worldwise Alumni Network integrates the considerable strengths and talents of alumni from all of our schools, living throughout the world. Together we can offer each other endless possibilities. Last Friday, we were delighted to welcome back our alumni, who also recorded a message for the Class of 2024.
As the graduation ceremony concludes, the Class of 2024 will now turn the page to the Next Chapter, embark on new beginnings, new stories, and new journeys. We are confident that these young people, armed with the knowledge and character they have cultivated at DHSZ, will bravely face the unknown challenges that lie ahead and pen even more brilliant chapters in their lives. We wish them joyous discoveries, remarkable achievements, and profound insights as they navigate the next phase of their life's journey!
