Investiture Ceremony AY24-25

This month, our school warmly welcomed a new cohort of student leaders amidst enthusiastic applause and eager anticipation. Our Investiture ceremony is one of our formal events of the year, the newly appointed student leaders and representatives from each department took the stage, accepting the weighty honor and responsibility entrusted to them.

At Dulwich, we have always placed great importance on cultivating student leadership, viewing it as a cornerstone of future success. In today’s rapidly evolving global and digital landscape, leadership transcends traditional definitions. It’s not only about enhancing individual skills but also encompasses the ability to communicate across diverse cultures and adapt to an ever-changing environment. By serving as student leaders, our students actively engage in community affairs, develop their decision-making abilities, and build confidence, laying a solid foundation for their futures.

Dulwich Challenge Award - A Pathway to Holistic Growth

The Dulwich Challenge Award has always encouraged students to develop across five pillars: positivity, creativity, skills, adventure, and service. By participating in the Challenge, students both build confidence and gain valuable life experiences through activities like outdoor adventures and volunteer service. These experiences better prepare them to face every challenge that the future may bring.

As the ceremony came to a close, Mr Nadir El-Edroos, our Deputy Head, delivered the speech.

"All the students recognized today will serve as role models for the rest of the school, and we expect them to uphold our values. Receiving a tie, badge, or certificate does not automatically make someone a student leader; the hard work begins today. In our school, every student has the opportunity to learn the art of leadership and contribute to the school community.

Whether you are a sports team captain, lead a Co-Curricular Activity (CCA), assist your teachers in organizing an event, participate in a group presentation, help others prepare for a test, or support a friend in need, your efforts are valuable.

The Dragon Spirit is not just about shouting "Go Dragons!" It is about the work you invest and the decisions you make to embody our school values. The leaders we aim to support and develop are those who can exemplify these values and serve as role models for others. We know this is not an easy task, and the purpose of school is to learn from our mistakes and progress forward.

We are proud of our students for being empathetic and caring towards other members of our community. We take pride in the respect you show to yourself and others, as well as the creativity you express in various ways. Your daily efforts to live out our values are commendable. We are proud of our DHSZ Dragons."
